Explaining things to enrich and engage

action-buttons Why video explanations matter.

The better that people understand your products and services, their features and benefits, and the value this provides for them personally, the more likely they are to buy from you.

Video and animation is a great medium for doing this.  It enables you to explain things in a very clear and engaging way – to showcase the way you approach your work, your years of experience and all the skills you can bring to bear on solving the prospect’s problems.

What’s more, this kind of visual content is hugely engaging and easy for the audience to consume.  Visually rich video is up to 500% more memorable than text or images on their own and a good video explanation should be almost as effective as a prospect experiencing your product or service first hand.

Generation Y, those born on the 1980’s and 90’s prefer to consume information in a video format.  Increasingly they like to do this using a mobile device, which means video is the content format of choice right now and for the future.

Finally, video and animation is the best medium for making an emotional connection with your target audience.  Why is this important?  Because people make decisions based on emotion and merely use logic later, to justify their choice.

But don’t just take our word for it – here’s a list of 37 reasons why it’s essential to make visually rich content a core part of your marketing strategy.insolvency-practitioner

Who should be using animation?

Does your business generate revenue by leveraging the intellectual assets of your people in a way that is intangible?  Examples of such a business would include providers of professional services, such as lawyers, accountants, consultants, those in finance, recruitment, marketing, logistics and software development, to name but a few.

If the answer is “yes” then your business could be described as “visually impoverished”.  You provide valuable solutions to your clients but it is very difficult to demonstrate that value in a visual form – you can show pictures of your people, you can show pictures of your office, but these images do nothing to show what it is you really do, the problems you solve, the way you work and the benefits to the end customer.  To make matters worse you look no different from your competitors and the video is, frankly, boring as heck!

Animation solves this problem.  It enables you to explain problems, solutions, processes, features and benefits in very graphic ways that make powerful, engaging and easy to understand marketing stories.  If you have a visually impoverished business then animation is the only way you can get your target audience to see how you are different and better!

We deliver affordable visually rich whiteboard animations which support your other content.  They will increase your open rates, educate your prospects, make you more memorable, grow your brand and, most important of all, demonstrate the value of what you do.

So what is a Web Video? We produced this short video back in 2011 to help local business understand the difference between video created for a television or cinema audience and that produced specifically for distribution online. We were trying to clarify the opportunities using video as an online marketing tool presented. Equally we hoped to clarify that the visual content and the message were more important than the production values of the same. Better to keep it informative, entertaining and useful at an affordable cost than aspiring to create a Ridley Scott epic when your audience was likely to be relatively small.
